Domaines Schlumberger is a 6th and 7th generation family owned wine producer, the family own and manage 140 hectares around Guebwiller in the Haut Rhin, in the South of Alsace. Of the 140 hectares, 70 are classified “Grand Cruâ€. Organic methods are used to cultivate 60 hectares and 30 hectares are cultivated using biodynamic practices.
THE CLASSIC RANGE:    LES PRINCES ABBES:   In homage to the Abbot Princes of Murbach who for more than 1000 years preserved and tended the vineyards that the wines come from.  1. 2005 Riesling Les Princes Abbes. Scored 90 pts in Wine Spectator.2. 2005 Pinot Gris Les Princes Abbes. Previously Tokay Pinot Gris.3. 2004 Gewurztraminer Les Princes Abbes                                                                                                                                                           THE GRAND CRU RANGE:    51 of the very best vineyards in the Alsace wine region have been classified “Grand Cruâ€. They represent about 6 percent of the area under vine in Alsace. Domaines Schlumberger has vines in four of these 51 classified Grand Cru vineyards and only label a wine “Grand Cru†should it meet the “Grand Cru†criteria as well as their own very strict control, and the vines are at least 12 years old.
