The Cape Wine Academy Wine Service Course is facilitated by Catherine Dillon of Wanderer Wines. The course is aimed at members of the hospitality industry with focus on service delivery and product knowledge.
Catherine lectures for the Cape Wine Academy from Intro through to Diploma level and including Front of House. Her involvement in tourism these past twelve years has given her her immense experience when it comes to wine service in restaurants and private functions. “There needs to be more investment when it comes to staff training. Five star status is meaningless when the staff cannot deliver good service and good service includes product knowledge. The responsibility lies 100% with management and there is no excuse for bad service”.
Catherine’s committment to wine service training has resulted in her facilitating the Wine Service Course offered by the Cape Wine Academy. “What excites me about this course is that it includes both theory and practical application. Candidates have to submit assignments and write an exam and if they pass both they receive an accredited certificate from the CWA. It is important that those enrolled for the course do walk away with a Certificate that is recognised in the industry.”
